After the devastating news of the close of The Rosebud Theatre in Effingham, a group of local business men and women met and decided that they must work to save the theatre. The group acknowledged the community’s disappointment as The Rosebud Theatre is truly a remarkable entertainment complex. Effingham and South Central Illinois sincerely embraced the live entertainment that graced the stage of this beautiful theatre. The men and women representing ACCI refused to let the curtain close forever!
The Arts Connection of Central Illinois organized themselves as a not-for-profit group, immediately put past Rosebud Executive Director Janie Oldfield on retainer as a consultant and devised a plan that would include the City of Effingham purchasing the facility and leasing it back to ACCI for $1/year.
