On February 24 – 26, 2012, Springfield USA Aquatics (SUSA), will host the 2012 Speedo© Illinois Swimming Regional Championship Swim Meet at Springfield Park District’s Eisenhower Pool, 2351 E. Cornell, Springfield, Illinois 62703. The meet is officially sanctioned by USA Swimming and Illinois Swimming, Inc. (ISI), the state and national governing bodies for the sport of swimming. (SUSA’s sanction number: ILS12-03036.) The Springfield meet is one of six (6) ISI Regional Championship Meets held throughout the State. In addition to SUSA, other Central Illinois teams participating in the Springfield Regional Meet include: BNSC (Bloomington-Normal), BNY (Bloomington-Normal), CIA (Peoria), DDST (Dunlap), DOCS (Peoria), DSC (Decatur), HEAT (Champaign), JAXY (Jacksonville), LYNX (Lincoln), MSSC (Morrison), OCS (Olympia), PAWW (Peoria), RED (Bloomington-Normal), SBD (Sullivan), SPY (Springfield) and SST (Quincy). Only swimmers who have met regional time standards during the season may participate in this meet. Session 1 begins at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, February 24th. Session 2 begins at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, February 25th. Session 3 begins at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 25th. Session 4 begins at 8:30 a.m. on Sunday, February 26th, and the final Session 5 begins at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 26th. SUSA’s swim team includes swimmers from Springfield, Chatham, Rochester, Sherman, Pleasant Plains, Moweaqua, Litchfield and other surrounding communities, and has open tryouts throughout the year.
