The annual Community Ecumenical Pro-Life Prayer Vigil will be held on Tuesday, January 22, 2013, at 7:30 p.m. in Feeney Hall of St. Matthew Catholic Church, 1303 Lincolnshire Drive, Champaign.
The theme of this year’s Vigil is “40 Years…A Time to Choose Life” featuring guest speakers Mrs. Joy Pace, Pro-Life Coordinator at Holy Cross Catholic Church, and Ms. Hannah Ihms, a U of I graduate who worked with Students for Life when she was in Champaign and who now lives in Indianapolis.
The purpose of the Vigil is for prayer and to memorialize and honor the millions of unborn persons who have lost their lives as a consequence of abortion, as well as to continue to learn about abortion and those whose lives have been affected by it. Sponsoring area churches include First Wesleyan, Twin City Bible and St. Patrick all of Urbana; Inside Out of Savoy; and Holy Cross, St. Matthew, and Windsor Road Christian all of Champaign.
The service will include music, Scripture readings, community prayer, and meditative speeches. The public is welcome to attend. A reception will follow the Vigil.
