Start Date: Oct. 07, 2012

Some of the most memorable and suspenseful scenes in The Adventures of Tom Sawyer take place in the rare and complex underground maze of "McDougal's Cave"— a cave Mark Twain knew well from his own boyhood adventures in Hannibal, Missouri. Enhance your enjoyment of this year's CU Reading title as Julie Angel, earth science coordinator at Parkland College — and seasoned spelunker — explores the history, geology, and biology of the natural wonder now known worldwide as Mark Twain Cave.
The CU Reading program encourages everyone in Champaign-Urbana to read and discuss the same book, The Adventures of Tom Sawyer. CU Reading is co-sponsored by the Champaign Public Library and The Urbana Free Library, with support from the Champaign Public Library Friends and the Friends of The Urbana Free Library.
