Carle Presents: "Healing Hounds": Therapy Dogs and Healthcare

All members of the Carle community are invited to an evening education event to explore the use of therapy dogs in the healthcare setting. A panel of Carle staff members, volunteers, and their dogs will discuss how therapy dogs are utilized both in healthcare and at Carle, and future directions for this service. At the conclusion of the event, participants should be able to:
-Discuss the therapeutic value of therapy dogs in healthcare
-Identify special considerations for a healthcare organization to utilize this service
Doors will open at 5:00 p.m. on Monday, December 10, 2012 to meet and greet C-U therapy dogs, and visit assorted displays related to the therapeutic use of dogs and other animals in healthcare. The event will start at 5:30 p.m. promptly. This event is free but pre-registration is strongly encouraged by e-mailing jessica.sempek@carle.com.

6:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m: Pup Panel: Adventures of Therapy Dogs at Carle
