During Domestic Violence Awareness Month this October, the Center for Women in Transition is hosting an event called “There’s No Place Like a Safe Home” on Thursday, October 11 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Emerald City Lounge, 118 North 1st Street in Champaign.
For just $5 at the door or an item from our Wish List, guests can help put an end to the violence while enjoying a fun evening of entertainment by members of The Boat Drunks, one free drink, appetizers and raffle prizes. A brief presentation from a domestic violence survivor will take place at around 6 p.m. The first 50 guests will receive a goodie bag courtesy of Sephora.

This event is made possible through generous contributions from Advanced Filtration Systems Inc. and Illini Mattress of Champaign. All proceeds go to support the Center for Women in Transition’s mission of providing a continuum of services so that individuals can achieve safety, stability and self-sufficiency.
